About Krewes of Kops

The City of New Orleans hosts one of the greatest parties on earth every carnival season. During those 14 days the men and women of the NOPD work many hours away from  their families to protect all of all of us on the parade route. We would not have Mardi Gras without this “Krewe of Blue”.

Krewes for Kops is the annual fundraiser sponsored by the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation plus the Carnival Krewes that parade in New Orleans.

They’re out there in the rain and the cold, in the sleet or the heat. We just want to be able to help them because they help us.

Kellie Barnes

Organizer, Krewes for Kops

It’s the parade groups that are indebted to the Police Department for its work during the annual Mardi Gras celebrations. I don’t know what we’d do without them, we just want to give back.
